Welcome from our program director
Welcome to the HCA Healthcare East Florida Division Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program. We are a newly ACGME accredited categorical program with its primary site located in Margate Florida, a Fort Lauderdale suburb, supporting 4 residents per year.
Our faculty includes well established community OB/GYNs as well as MFM, FPMRS, REI, and GYN Oncology subspecialists. The facility has a high volume of gynecologic surgeries which the residents have full exposure to. There is a strong focus on minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries including robotic, conventional laparoscopy, single site laparoscopy, VNOTEs, amongst others.
The program's goal is to create compassionate, well rounded OB/GYNs that provide excellent care to the patients in their community. This will be done through didactic lectures, simulation, extensive surgical training, direct mentorship, and workshops. The residents will be part of multi-disciplinary teams, including midwifes, nurse practitioners, other residents, as well as other specialties.
We also serve as a clinical site for Nova Southeastern University, Dr. Kiran C Patel College of Allopathic Medicine, medical students rotating through OB/GYN. This will provide residents an opportunity to be educators to the new generation of physicians.
Training in this program will allow you to become a highly competent and skilled OB/GYN as well as develop skills to allow you to become a leader in the field.
I appreciate your interest in our new program and look forward to meeting you in the future.
Newly ACGME accredited OB/GYN residency program part of the HCA East Florida Consortium with Northwest Medical Center being the primary clinical site. The program has a 50/50 obstetrics and gynecology distribution of rotations to ensure the resident will be well rounded in both disciplines. Gynecology faculty have a strong focus on minimally invasive surgery including robotic and conventional laparoscopy.
The facility, located in Margate Florida, has a level 3 NICU allowing for the residents to be a part of the management and care of high risk pregnancies.
