Northwest Medical Center is a leader in minimally invasive robotic surgery

When it comes to robotic surgery, LESS IS DEFINITELY MORE.

At Northwest Medical Center, we offer robotic surgery with the most advanced technology for a wide range of minimally invasive specialties, including:

  • Colorectal surgery
  • General surgery
  • Gynecological oncology
  • Gynecological surgery
  • Thoracic surgery
  • Urologic surgery
  • Weight loss surgery

Our robust robotic surgery program includes three robots—two Xis and one Si. This technology provides our surgeons with the most advanced instrumentation, allowing them to operate using the tiniest incisions- with greater vision, greater precision and more control.

How does the robot work, and what makes it different?

The surgeon operates the robot by sitting a few feet away from the patient at a console. It is configured to equip your surgeon with:

  • Super 3-D visualization: provides a three-dimensional view with magnification ten times that of the naked eye
  • Enhanced dexterity: to conduct precise movements with extraordinary control and range of motion
  • Precision control: the surgeon makes key-hole sized incisions to work on specific areas instead of a large incision that causes more scarring.

Facing surgery?

Today, complex conditions ranging from cancer to uterine prolapse, fibroids and prostate procedures can be treated minimally invasively with robotic surgery. This approach uses a robotic surgical system that provides surgeons with better vision, more precision and more control. It requires only a few small incisions, so you can get back to your life faster—without the usual recovery following major surgery.

Advantages of robotic surgery

  • Smaller incisions
  • Greater precision
  • Reduced blood loss
  • Fewer complications
  • Less post-operative pain
  • Shorter hospital stays
  • Quicker recuperation
  • Reduced scarring
  • Less harm to surrounding tissue
