Our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is committed to providing individualized, high-quality care for infants born prematurely or critically ill in Margate, Coral Springs and the surrounding communities. Our goal is to deliver expert medical treatment with warmth and compassion to all infants in a family-centered atmosphere.

Led by board-certified neonatologists, who are in house and available 24/7, the staff in our NICU works together with specialists, registered nurses, respiratory therapists and allied health professionals to provide advanced care to our smallest miracles. The 12-bed unit is located in close proximity to our postpartum unit, so parents feel close to their children.
What is a NICU?
If your baby is born ill or prematurely, they will be placed in either our NICU or our intermediate care nursery for specialized medical attention and treatment. There, your baby will be admitted to an incubator or warming bed, where their care will be constantly monitored by neonatologists and a specialized pediatrician with additional training and experience in the care of premature infants.
Our Level III NICU features include:
- 24-hour board-certified neonatologist and neonatal nurse practitioner coverage
- 24-hour coverage by a respiratory therapist with Level III NICU experience
- A highly secured area for families
- Dedicated case manager for the Level III NICU and obstetric areas
- Nitric oxide capabilities for persistent pulmonary hypertension
- Preoperative and postoperative stabilization
Dedicated neonatal care team
Our NICU is staffed by neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners and specially trained neonatal nurses. The neonatal team recognizes the need for parents to be involved in their baby's care. Parents have 24-hour access to the NICU and team to ensure they feel connected to their children.
